I bought a 2k necklace here today, and i decided to wear it out of the shop. The shopkeeper insisted on doing the clasp for me, as it was one of the open style clasps that is popular on gold jewelry. Within 25 minutes of me walking out of the shop, it had fallen off somewhere along the street. I called to ask how this could happen, and the shopkeep kept insisting i must have taken off the necklace and put it in my pocket, or my jacket had knocked it open, or my hair(?) somehow opened it. Basically she was doing anything to avoid the responsibility of her clasping the nacklace improperly. Of course, the necklace had already been picked up by someone who noticed the shiny chain. She kept giggling at what i was saying, as if me losing 2k is some sort of funny joke. I asked her if this had happened before, necklaces falling off and she just went 'uhuh, yeah okay.' because she wanted me to stop talking. It was a 2 minute phone call, and i was calm and respectful the whole time, so i have no clue why she was acting like she was suddenly very busy, as that shop gets very little foot traffic. I understand they cant give everyone a replacement necklace who says ' oh but i swear it fell off ' but this is a situation where her shop actually does bear some responsibility, and the way she refused to take any responsibiity AND giggled at me is frankly ridiculous. Save your money or purchase elsewhere because these people will make huge mistakes and make zero effort to make up for that. Basically all i wanted was for her to say, oh i am sorry, i will be more careful in the future so the fact she couldnt even do that measly thing is crazy to me. Do not shop here until this lady starts taking her medicine, because her arthritic fingers are incapable of even the basic motions a jeweler should have. I will make sure to point anyone looking for fine jewelry and quality service AWAY from this place. People kept telling me chinatown had zero competent jewelers and i am regretful for not listening to them
