I decided to try this barbershop after reading a review that called it “the best barber in Western Canada.” Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience, and I won’t be returning.

I clearly explained what I wanted—a 1 ½ on the back and sides, with the top cut shorter. The barber did a good job with the razor on the back and sides, and then… the haircut was apparently over. I had to ask, “What about the top?”—even though I’d mentioned it at the start. I’m wondering if there was a language barrier? If so, that’s understandable, but it might also explain why there was barely any conversation beyond a basic “How is your day?”

Meanwhile, another customer was getting their haircut by what I assume was the main barber, who was much more engaged and friendly. Maybe I just got unlucky, but as a new customer, you want to feel welcome. Of course, the haircut itself is the priority, but the overall experience matters too.

And $36.75 is way above what I have paid at other establishments for a much better experience. Sorry.

Unfortunately, I found the whole visit quite cold and awkward, and I won’t be going back.
