Ali at City Center Barbershop is hands-down one of the best barbers in Calgary. The attention to detail, the quality of the cuts, and the care he puts into every appointment are always top-tier. Whether it’s a skin fade, a long style, a hot shave, or anything in between, the whole shop delivers with skill and professionalism. It’s no wonder all the barbers here have such loyal, long-standing clients — once you know, you know. The vibe is great, the service is consistent, and at this point, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Ali is an excellent barber—professional, skilled, and always consistent with his work. He listens to what you want, gives great suggestions, and takes the time to make sure everything is done right. Ali has been a great attendant. everytime i go there, i didnt even say a word and he drops the perfect cut. also the aura in the store is so relaxed, feels comfort and a bit dizzy. well done Ali.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Ali’s for over 15 years. I first came for the convenient location but stayed for the great service and fair prices. Ali has always done a great job, and I happily recommend him.

It pains me to mention any shortcomings, but it wouldn’t be a fair review without noting both the good and the bad. The shop sometimes struggles with timely appointments and taking phone calls during service — understandable given the lack of front-desk staff, but still worth improving.

Unfortunately, my father, whom I referred, had a poor experience when another barber gave him an uneven, overly short haircut. No one took responsibility at the time, and although Ali later offered a free cut, my father chose not to return.

In short, Ali is excellent — just be sure to clearly confirm your style with the barber before the cut begins.
