This is a gem. I regret not knowing this place earlier in my two years of living in Calgary. They have home decorations suitable for and popular with Muslim families. They have hijabs, hijab caps, pins and other accessories. They have a good collection of prayer rugs. They also have travel prayer mats. They have party dresses suitable for a muslimah.
The staff working at the time of my visit was very efficient and kind.
The prices are not exactly in the inexpensive range, but it's still reasonable.

I went to the store with my mother to exchange a gift item she received, which had a gift receipt and all tags still attached. Nowhere on the receipt did it mention a 10-day exchange limit. When I brought this up, a staff member named Hanadi responded with rudeness and a mocking attitude, saying, “Don’t you know our return policy?” and shaking her head at me. It was incredibly disrespectful.

Thankfully, another staff member asked the owner, who was kind enough to approve the exchange. However, I also tried to return two black abayas within the 10-day period, but they claimed I was past the deadline, even after I showed them the dates on my calendar. Again, I was forced to exchange instead of receiving a refund.

I picked out a few hijabs and a wall clock. The clock looked fine in the store, but when I got home, I noticed the gems were falling off. I called the store, and again Hanadi answered with disbelief and dismissiveness. Only after speaking with the owner was I told I could return it.

When I came back, Hanadi wasn’t there, but the staff present were just as rude. They spoke in Arabic, possibly about me, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I was offered the floor model clock for exchange, which also had damage. I asked why I should pay full price for a chipped item, and was told, “They’re all like that,” with no apology or accountability.

As a fellow Muslim woman, I expected to be treated with basic respect — especially in a store that should value community and dignity. Instead, I felt belittled, disrespected, and completely dismissed.

This was one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had, and I will not be returning to Fancy Label.
