Hands down, the best nail salon experience I've ever had! From the moment I stepped into the nail zone , I was impressed by the chic, clean, and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was not only friendly but professional, taking the time to listen to my preferences and making personalized recommendations. I got shellac , and I couldn’t be happier with the results – my nails look absolutely stunning every time I go to this salon. I always get compliments ?. The attention to detail was incredible, and the entire experience was so relaxing. Plus, the quality of the products used was top-notch, and my nails have never looked better. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for the perfect nail care experience, the nail zone is the place to go! ??

I’ve been to many salons in the city but these are the best set of nails i’ve had done in my life. The attention to detail is absolutely astounding and the talent is incredible. Kathy did my nails and as much as i want to gatekeep - this is an incredibly talented salon that deserves recognition. I had a complicated design that look longer than expected and they were very kind about the situation. Highly highly recommend this place!

I’ve been to several different nail salons in Calgary and this is definitely one of the best. It’s on the pricier side if you want intricate nail designs but worth the price and more. Salina is AMAZING! I absolutely love my nails.

I recently visited The Nail Zone and I can confidently say it was one of the worst nail experiences I’ve ever had.

1. Poor Booking and Mismatched Expectations

I originally wanted to book with *Selena*, who is undoubtedly the best nail tech at the salon. However, she was on vacation and unavailable until the 21st. I explained to the receptionist that I was referred to *The Nail Zone* by another salon because they couldn’t do the nails I wanted. I specifically asked if I should wait for Selena or if they had someone who could deliver similar quality. They assured me they did and booked me in.

This was a huge mistake.

2. Unprofessional and Incompetent Service
The nail tech assigned to me was completely unprofessional and lacked basic skills. Proportion and Design: My nails are not proportioned they’re too skinny and uneven. The placement design was basic and uninspired, and placements were haphazard. The area underneath and around the nails was not cleaned properly. In fact, another nail tech had to step in to clean up his work while they were taking pictures.

Attitude: When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the gem placements and requested more, he responded with an annoyed tone, saying it was “a lot already.” Excuse me? I’m the client, and it’s my nails! When I asked him to remove the gems from two nails because I didn’t like them, he didn’t even attempt to fix it he simply removed them and got defensive.

3. Disrespectful and Unprofessional Behavior
The nail tech’s behavior was appalling. Instead of trying to accommodate my preferences, he acted like I was being unreasonable. Newsflash: if I’m paying $150 for my nails, I expect to get what I want. If I want unicorns, you give me unicorns—it’s not your nails, it’s mine

To make matters worse, he said to anotjer nailtech how the other salon sent me “trash/leftover client”. In vietnamese. Seriously? I pretended not to understand, but it was incredibly disrespectful.

4. Tipping for Time, Not Quality
When it came time to pay, I made it clear to the receptionist that I was tipping $80 for his time, not for his work. The nail tech immediately rushed over, getting defensive when I told him he needed to work on his gem placements and designs. And he got in my face and repeatedly said what did you say. No client should ever be told that what they want is “too much.”

5. Poor Management and Mismatched Talent
This experience is a clear reflection of poor management. The salon failed to match my needs with the appropriate nail tech. While Selena is amazing, this particular male nail tech was completely unprofessional and unfit to handle clients.

I will never set foot in this salon again. *The Nail Zone* should be grateful that another salon referred me to them, but instead, they treated me with disrespect and incompetence. If you’re considering this salon, I strongly advise you to wait for Selena or another nail tech or go elsewhere. This experience was a complete waste of time and money, and I regret ever stepping foot in this place.

Rating: 1/10 (Only because Selena exists, but she wasn’t there to save this disaster.)
