I've been consigning and shopping at Peacock for 10+ years - it used to be my go-to place for both selling and buying. Unfortunately, the business has changed considerably over the past few years. I used to know exactly which brands/styles the consigning team would select, and how much they would sell for - and they always sold. Now, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the process. I've had entire bags of current mid-to-high end items rejected despite the stores being full of H&M and Zara (and even Shein and Joe Fresh). I've also had items that retail for $500+ listed at Peacock for $50-$60 - when I pulled them, they sold for $200+ at other consignment stores. Downsizing the Beltline and Inglewood locations to much smaller spaces, combined with closing the online store, means that far less inventory gets selected and placed on the store floors. Consequently, as others have mentioned here, the stores these days are quite light on both inventory and customers.

Additionally, the social media presence is very minimal - back in the day, the team would post daily, advertising new items on the floor, resulting in sales. Peacock no longer lists items on its website or advertises them on social media, which is a major failure (especially when other local consignment stores do both daily). This is the primary service that consigners 'pay' (via 60% cut) the stores for - to advertise items and get them sold.

I do appreciate that the owner and teams at all three stores are consistently warm and friendly, and the online consignment portal is incredible and unique to Peacock (other stores, please take note!). The ability to see at any time the status of items, and what has sold and for how much, means completely transparency.

Unfortunately, I can't ignore that I've had very little luck both selling and buying at Peacock over the past couple of years, and have moved my attention to other consignment stores where I have more success in both avenues.

Don’t come here looking for deals. Found shorts with the tags still on. Original price $39. Consignment price $38 (tap photo to see tags side by side). Yikes! Might as well shop straight from the source… they have nice items but items seemed quite expensive considering everything is second hand.
Edit: Thanks to the owner for responding. I can appreciate that this was a mistake but as a first time client in your store, there’s no sign saying what your pricing strategy is so I would never have known to question it. It is not up to the client to approach staff to question a price tag.
